Condrosulf 400 mg cápsulas
Chondroitin sulphate

The active substance is chondroitin sulphate. Each capsule contains 400 mg of chondroitin sulphate.
The other ingredients (excipients) are: magnesium stearate. The composition of the capsule is: gelatine, titanium dioxide, quinoline yellow (E-104), indigotine (E-132).

1. WHAT Condrosulf 400 mg cápsulas IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Condrosulf is presented in the form of hard capsules for oral administration, available in containers of 60 units. It belongs to the group of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatories and anti-rheumatics.
Condrosulf is indicated in the symptomatic treatment of arthrosis.

2. BEFORE YOU TAKE Condrosulf 400 mg cápsulas
Do not take Condrosulf
• If you are allergic to chondroitin sulphate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Be particularly careful with Condrosulf
• If you suffer from any serious kidney, liver or heart disease.
See your doctor, even if any of the above circumstances have only happened once.

Pregnancy
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicine.
Condrosulf is not recommended during pregnancy.

Lactation
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicine.
Condrosulf is not recommended during pregnancy.

Driving and using machines

Condrosulf is not expected to affect the capacity to drive or use machines.

Using other medicines

Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or have recently used any other medicines, even those not prescribed.
The administration of Condrosulf at doses much higher than the recommended ones, together with a platelet antiaggregant to prevent thrombosis, such as acetyl salicylic acid, dipyridamole, clopidrogel, ditazol, trifusal and ticlopidine, may slightly increase the effect of the aforementioned medicines.

3. HOW TO TAKE Condrosulf 400 mg cápsulas
Follow these instructions unless told to do otherwise by your doctor.
Remember to take your medicine.
Your doctor will tell you the duration of your treatment with Condrosulf. Do not interrupt the treatment before that, since its efficacy may be reduced.
Two (2) capsules of Condrosulf (total daily dose: 800 mg) a day are recommended, preferably in a single take (2 capsules at once) for at least 3 months. Nevertheless, in patients with important inflammatory symptomatology, and if the physician deems it convenient, treatment may be started at a dose of 1200 mg (3 capsules a day, in a single take or in 2 takes) for the first 4 or 6 weeks and then continued with 800 mg (2 capsules a day preferably in a single take) until the period of administration of at least 3 months is complete.
If you have the impression that the effect of Condrosulf is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Condrosulf will be given for at least 3 months, followed by a rest period of 2 months, with treatment subsequently resumed following the same cycle.
The capsules must be swallowed whole. They may be taken before, during or after meals with a sufficient amount of liquid.
If you take more Condrosulf that you should, see your doctor or pharmacist immediately, go to the nearest hospital or call the Toxicology Information Service. Phone number 915 620 420. Take this leaflet with you.

If you forget to take Condrosulf
Do not take a double dose to make up for the doses you forgot to take.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Condrosulf can have side effects.
On rare occasions, the appearance of nausea and/or gastrointestinal alterations has been described, which do not generally require suspension of the treatment. On very rare occasions, in patients with kidney and/or heart failure, some cases of oedema and/or water retention has been described.
On very rare occasions, some allergic reactions have been reported.
If you notice any side effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

5. STORING Condrosulf 400 mg cápsulas
Keep Condrosulf out of the reach and sight of children.
Store in the original container.
Keep away from the damp.

Expiry
Do not use Condrosulf after the expiry date indicated on the box.
