The "Francesco Angelini" Foundation

Angelini is fully conscious that the duty of a pharmaceutical company lies not only in researching, manufacturing and delivering the pharmaceuticals and products necessary for people’s health and wellbeing, but also in striving along with other players in society to improve and enhance the quality of life for everyone, especially the most weak and disadvantaged.
This sentiment led to the establishment, in 1997, of the ‘Francesco Angelini’ Foundation; a non-profit organisation engaged in social issues, the Foundation is named after Francesco Angelini, who founded the Group in 1919.
The Foundation’s key objective is to support social initiatives and activities, at both a national and international level, which are motivated purely by the public service ethic. Actions and initiatives include charity work, humanitarian aid, especially for needy children and elderly people, protecting and promoting artistic works, and supporting research carried out by either other foundations or by universities and research institutes.
The ‘Francesco Angelini’ Foundation has promoted a variety of social initiatives, including:
  • Donations to children’s institutes and associations
  • Support for AMREF (African Medical & Research Foundation), an organisation for improving health and social development in Africa
  • Donations to hospitals in Italy
  • Support for ‘Telefono Rosa’, an association to protect women against violence or abuse
  • Support for the Rome Alzheimer’s Association
  • Up-grading of the D’Avalos Park in Pescara, a natural reserve in the pine forest beloved of Gabriele D’Annunzio
  • Support for the Italian Myeloid Association and for the families of the Italians killed in Nassirya
  • Collaboration with the Department of Civil Protection, especially during the December 2004 tsunami disaster in South-East Asia
  • Collaboration with the Glocal Forum through donations for developing countries
